„The German Grundgesetz – An Open Constitution after 70+ years“ on the 23.01.2020

We warmly invite you to our guest lecture „The German Grundgesetz – An Open Constitution after 70+ years“ by Prof. Dr. Ruffert, lecturer at Humboldt University of Berlin and Judge at the Constitutional Court of Thuringia in cooperation with King’s German Society. It will take place in the Moot Court Room of the Dickson Poon School of Law on the 23rd of January 2020 at 6 pm, followed by a reception.

Prof. Ruffert will illustrate the historical development of the German constitution with a particular focus on European integration. Special attention will be put on the debate surrounding the implementation and implications of Articles 23, 24 and 25 which legally as well as politically enabled the European integration in Germany. Furthermore, a cursory overview over the British influence on the German Constitution, especially regarding Article 5, will be given.
